Funny Sleeper!

For the 2-3 months, Kaiya's bedtime routine had been getting worse and worse. She used to be so easy to put to sleep, it seems that now that she has become more aware of her ability to control us, she was really picky about how we put her to sleep. She would not go to bed unless I or Matt would rock her to sleep, with her binki and if she were wake up as we put her down, the process would start over. Anyway, I was determined to not let her do this to me anymore, so we began consitantly putting her in her crib and letting her cry (even though I felt so bad hearing her scream), we did that every night, and at nap times, but after about a week or two she has been doing so well, she usually just goes right to sleep now. She even seems to sleep longer, I don't know if it is because she is okay with putting herself back to sleep now if she wakes up, but she sleeps anywhere between 9-13 hours now! I love it! Persistance payed off.

This is how she puts her self to sleep, and even if we turn her over while she is asleep, she tends to be this way in the morning.

Way to go- I am all about letting my children go to sleep while they are awake- it makes such a difference- I have the 10 min. rule. If they scream for ten minutes I will go in and rub there head and tell them everthing is ok but I dont pick them up. I have two great sleepers now- Hope Milton will be the same :) I really think sleep has a lot to do with what the parents teach their children- Just a heads up- being sick usually throws things off a bit but be consistant after they are better things will go back to "normal" Yeah for Kiaya!!! (and Mom and Dad)
